Gas boilers are one of the most common types of boilers used in homes across Northampton and the UK. This is why today we are going to share with you some of our tips for caring for your gas boiler.
Top Tip One – Servicing
One of the best ways to keep your gas boiler in top condition is by ensuring it has a regular service check-up. These should be completed at least once per year. This helps you to know if there are any faults with your boiler, helping the problem to be fixed before it causes any massive issues in your home.
Top Tip Two – Bleed Your Radiators
This may focus more on your radiators. But bleeding your radiators can and will help your boiler. Bleeding your radiator is a simple task that involves opening a valve to release any trapped air.
If you do not release this trapped air your boiler will be working harder than it needs to be to heat up your radiators. Meaning you will be shortening its life span.
Top Tip Three – Boiler Pressure
To maintain and care for your boiler you should always keep an eye on your boiler pressure. If your boiler pressure becomes too low, generally below one bar, the efficiency of your boiler day-to-day running will be lower. It is easy to top up your boiler pressure following the manual, but you can also ask a local plumber to help you.
Top Tip Four – Remove Clutter
You should keep the area around your boiler free from any clutter. Your boiler needs to be well ventilated to be able to work efficiently. Any clutter will prevent this from happening.
These are our top four tips for maintaining and caring for your boiler. Following these tips will help your boiler to run more efficiently.
